Over the past few months, I have visited several properties and seen that foundational work and construction have started. This can have a significant impact on the project causing delays, additional costs and upset.


At Duchy Party Wall Surveyors, we are always available to answer any questions homeowners or adjoining owners may have. We specialise in matters related to party walls and boundaries. Simply calling to ask a question can greatly influence the success of a building project.


It is worth noting that some owners and adjoining owners may not be fully aware of the Party Wall etc. Act 1996. We have received inquiries from building firms and architects asking whether an agreement is necessary. In some cases, we have confirmed that no agreement is required, allowing them to continue their work while respecting neighbouring properties. However, in many instances, an agreement under the Act is indeed required.
